Alyson Marjerrison;
Chief Operations Officer, GIS Analyst
Ms. Marjerrison has received a Master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (MGIS) from the University of Calgary. Her research concentrated on using GIS & logistic regression to predict raptor presence in Nunavut. She started her education at the University of Guelph, where she received a B.A in Geography focusing her studies in remote sensing, GIS and environmental geography. Ms. Marjerrison also holds a Geographic Information Systems certificate from Niagara College; where her studies concentrated on cartography, project management and GIS. Alyson has been working in the GIS field for nearly ten years and is knowledgeable in a vast array of GIS workflows, procedures and applications. Her passion not only earned her a published map in ESRI’s 2015 Map Book, but she also qualified for her GISP designation. Ms. Marjerrison annually represents the Town of Golden at the ESRI User Conference (2012 – 2015) in San Diego, CA. She is a current member of the Alberta Geomatics Group and Canadian Institute of Geomatics.
Her personability, coupled with the ability to decipher the needs of complex projects and plan within tight timelines made her a natural choice for the GIS Team Leader (2007-08) for Gartner Lee Ltd. In addition to mapping and analysis, she managed the GIS budget and effectively led a department of three individuals to achieve complex requests from many internal and external clients. Alyson has experience working for small, private environmental consulting agencies, large multi-national corporations and local government. With this eclectic mix of industries and employers, Ms. Marjerrison has a well rounded skill set which compliments all projects that she supports.
